Intecells is a start-up battery cell technology company based in Michigan and founded in 2018 on decades of automotive industry and materials science R&D. A provider of turnkey manufacturing equipment and process technology, its aim is a step-change in electrode production by making it more efficient, less energy-intensive, less polluting, and less capital-intensive.
This aim will be achieved through the pioneering application of state-of-the-art, proprietary plasma technology.
Production processes for electrodes are decades old and have only seen incremental improvements. Intecells’ plasma technology will transform efficiency and sustainability by dramatically cutting cycle times, enabling dry coating and elimination of toxic solvents and binders, and ultimately making solid-state battery manufacturing at scale a reality.
Intecells’ plasma technology is the enabler for fundamental change to the battery sector’s DNA. It will revolutionize development of electric vehicles, stationary energy storage, consumer electronics, wearables, and medical devices. Instead of products being engineered around batteries, this paradigm will be reversed, enabling a step-change in design freedom.
